Is a revolutionary change in society possible?

If a war is on the horizen then it will be the goverments that instigate it not masses.

Yes people only get it togher when the **** hits the fan! yet they know that changes are necessary.Thanks for yr answer justin,it certainly highlights a concern shared by a number of people.

It will, like almost all revolutions, start with a small group of "fanatics".  Centered around charismatic leaders, they will gain support as the weakening government loses face and cannot deal with it without being the "bad guys".  The government will be forced to choose between appearing as Tyrants or Weaklings depending on their response to the revolution.  Either way, it will change...but will it be for the better?

A single charismatic individual holds more power than a million apathetic and drone-like followers.  Hitler, Stalin, Joan of Arch, Gandhi, Zhang Jue...the list goes on.  Some saw success, others saw utter failure after a reign of madness.  Can you institute a better system than what we have?  If so, I'm with you my friend.

A revolutionary change in society has already happened in my lifetime. I was born in the 1950s, a different world.

Yes, it just takes a catastrophic event to spark it, such as our war with Iran that we're about to start.

Not in today's society of apathy and laziness.  People are too shallow these days to take anything seriously.  They are stuck in their own selfish world of "me".

I believe that we are seeing a revolutionary change at this moment. If you accept that: 1)Global transformation really got underway at the conclusion of WWII, and 2)Technology has made possible a flattening of traditional hierarchical structures, then it is possible to conclude that we are seeing the current generation begin the journey to a future that is more positive than any other in history.
