  2. Yes. The PDI mechanic must drive the car to make sure everything works on it before the dealer puts it up for sale. If he needs to repair something, he must take it for another drive to make sure it's operating as it should.

    Every new car will have at least 10 miles on it. Some even more. As many as 30. It depends on how many options the car has and if any repairs needed to be done.

    And if the car was used for demo drives, you can expect even more miles on it. But all sales managers do their best to keep the mileage under 50 on all their new cars. More than that, you need to inquire as to why.
