  1. there are only a few hd channels at the mo totaly not worth subscribing. Plus the sky hd boxes are having loads of faults with them, they keep turning off.

  2. Yes, you'll need SOME form of HD box to be able to watch HD channels.

If you only want to watch the free HD channels like BBC HD, then a Freesat HD box will do. If you want to watch things like Sky Sports, Sky One and Sky Movies in HD, you'll need a Sky HD box.

Is it worth it? Well, unless you watch HD TV channels on a HD box, or HD movies on a Blu-Ray player, then you aren't really taking advantage of what your TV is really capable of.

And if you aren't interested in watching anything in High Definition, why did you buy an expensive High Definition TV?

  3. If you have a full HD Sony Bravia tv then it seems a shame not to watch HD on it as they are great LCD tvs. You would though need Sky HD, Virgin HD or Freesat to watch HD. I would only recommend Sky at the moment for HD as it has the most number of HD channels. Freesat is great if you don't want to pay a subscription but you will still need to pay a one off fee for a satellite dish and box. I know Sky often does half price offers on the Sky HD boxes. At the moment the full price is £150 but it is possible with a special offer to get it for £75. Email this site:

they can often provide details on the cheapest way to get HD including special offers on at the moment.

    Hope that helps

  4. Yes you will need a HD Sky box in order to view HD Sky channels. There is no other way to do it (with Sky anyways). Is it worth worth it? In terms of picture quality yes it is, however you will pay a slightly inflated fee for channels (and programs) that you can still get on normal standard definition boxes.

  5. Hi - you'll only benefit "HD TV" once you've signed up to HD Channels.

Sky, BT etc all provide these; for Sky it just adds about a tenner to your current monthly cost.

  6. your tv is only hd compatable to receive hd programmes you will need a hd receiver such as sky hd etc yes its worth it
