i think you will find any subaru is high quality. they might be dearer than the competition but you get what you pay for.

Every Subaru my family has owned has lasted forever, with minimal repairs required. Only the usual, such as warn out stuff after a 150-200K miles. Same goes with anyone else Ive know with one.

I have had an Impreza and a Legacy.  I now own a Forester.  The Forester is my favorite.  My job makes me a road warrior and this car has NEVER let me down.  It is comfortable on long drives and it runs out great plus there's plenty of room for my luggage seeing as I live outta my car.  In the area I live we get heavy winter snows.  Only once during an ice storm did I miss work.  That's only because I swerved for oncoming traffic and slid into a neighbors yard.  This car requires very little maintenance (only what's recommended by Subaru).  I would certainly own another subaru.

Yes. The most impartial advice can be found in Consumer Reports magazine, which has consistently rated the Forester (and other Subies) as more reliable than average. Subarus also hold up well in crash tests, not a small consideration in an age where other drivers are yakking on cellphones!
