During a night of drinking my bf was exceedingly loving towards me in front of his friends. As we were walking home, he started to act differently and started to straighten plants that he thought were not straight. He said it was an OCD. I told him this one plant was crooked and he started to measure edges with a card. I walked away thinking he would follow but he didn't and instead sat down on someone else's porch. I came back and he started talking about how we were good together but I left him and that I didn't believe him. He started to act more irrational towards the night, started to increase his voice, acting like he was the boss. He even bought cigarettes (he doesn't smoke) and started saying how no one can mess with him. It was such a drastic change, which happened just within 2 hours. It didn't stop, even when I thought it would. It was as if I met a stranger in a person who I am so familiar with.

  1. That happens with lots of true alcoholics. The best thing for you is to leave now and find someone new. You will end up leaving eventually anyway and you will be in a dangerous situation many times

  2. Drinking can, in some people bring out the worst in them.  However, if your bf is OCD, he should not be combining booze with his medications.

If you don't like the way he acts when he drinks, tell him and encourage him to stay away from too much booze.

I hope the drinking is not a problem.  I also hope it doesn't become one.

    Good luck.

  3. Many people simply can't drink alcohol whether or not they get drunk.  It changes their personalities totally.  Ever hear of a "mean Drunk"--Those are people who are perfectly nice and then become evil after they drink.  It is strange.

  4. People often get really strange when they drink. It may depend on how much they drank, as well as other variables going on in their mood or whatever. It may not happen every time a person drinks, but every once in a while a person may drink too much and be in just the right (or wrong) mood at the time and they will seem to go completely looney. It's basically normal, as long as it only happens every once in a while and not on a regular basis.

  5. If you stay with him, he must choose to never drink.  Do not stay with him if he continues to drink.  This is bad.

  6. he is screwed up
