Is a toothbrush really just a toothbrush?

I disagree with my sister, who thinks her off-brand no-frills toothbrush isn't much worse than my Sonicare electric toothbrush.

I, AS A DENTIST, COULD HAVE BOUGHT ANY TOOTHBRUSH MADE. I CHOSE TO BUY A SONICARE.

WHY?

IT'S THE BEST ONE MADE AND IT WORKS THE BEST AT REMOVING PLAQUE.

No, the Sonicare electric toothbrushes and a lot of other electric toothbrushes are much better at taking off plaque and bacteria than normal toothbrushes- especially with the UV bacteria cleanser to clean the brush. :)
