Is a trip to Ireland worth it?

i want to go to ireland.. but i've heard that there is nothing worth going and that it is a waste of money.

Is this a vacation? What are you looking for? It's a beautiful place scenic-wise. Depending on the season, the weather can be less than pleasant. I would go elsewhere if looking for a hot social scene.

go there, and visit newgrange, it older then the pyramids of egypt, and its fascinating!!!!

I would like to go too , I would think just meeting people from a different culture would be enough to make any trip worth while not to mention the history ...

Travel is always worth it. Ireland and much of Europe is expensive, true....but travel always is. It is  rather small country, so you can see a lot of it in a relatively short time. There is some anti-Americanism as there is in many places these days, but if people choose to not be able to differentiate between a country and it citizens....that is their problem.

Just research the country you plan on visiting to see what interests you. There is plenty to do in Ireland.

It is definately worth it!!! If you go on a certain day of the year, and to a certain town in the West, you can see a leprechaun!!! The people are really friendly too!

I think its worth it.  I just booked my vacation to go to Ireland in October.  There is so much to see in do in my opinion - I know I won't get to see everything that I want to see while I'm there, but at least I'll get to go to a few of the important ones.  I think if you are interested in going to Ireland you should definately go.

I went and loved it.  I would love to go back again.  It is goregous.  The natural beauty is amazing.

I have been there 6 times , I love it there. It is a beautiful country , the people are so welcoming. The social scene is great there. You can have a night at a traditional Irish pub with Irish music or you can go to a regular bar or club. The people are soooo friendly and love Americans.

The Guinness house, Dublin Zoo, Croke Park, Wicklow Jail , Kilmanen Jail and the GPO which  is a post office with a great historical significance to it are great things to see.

You could go down to Cork and See the Blarney Stone. The myth is If you kiss it you’ll never shut up!

In Dublin, The best night life is definitely in Temple Bar. It’s big, It’s modern and It’s expensive while it has loads of history and culture to it too.

If you want a relaxing, quiet holiday in the country or enjoy the scenery, then any parts of the country will do it for you really like Donegal, Galway, Clare, Mayo etc.

If you want a shopping, busy, touristy holiday then anywhere (or most places) in Dublin will do it for you.

A town in Kerry (the South of Ireland, It’s beside Cork too) called Tralee is very touristy. It is the largest town in Ireland.

It has many attractions and loads of shops and a great night life.

It’s great for young people and people with small families. It suits everyone.

It has an aqua dome swimming pool which is always packed and outside the pool, You can play crazy Golf.

The People in Ireland, in my opinion are an extremely welcoming race. I think this because I have went to other countries from a young age on exchanges, holidays with college etc. and I thought no one was as hospitable as the Irish.

Yes.  They love Americans and that makes it worth it.  

Most European countires don't care for Americans but Ireland is different.  

It is really nice to travel to a place where they like you a lot.

I think the reason they like Americans is many of their relatives came here during the potato famine and they feel in some way that Americans are their own kin to some extent.

I am sure there are other reasons but they really identify with the United States.

Its worth it if you know the Right places to go and look up things to do that are indoors as well as outdoors because the weather is very unreliable if you want scenery go to Killarney in Kerry if you want night life go to Dublin if you want a bit of both go to Galway when your here ask locals good places to see and to eat and drink the tourist places are sometimes a bit more expensive and not as fun.

if you come from Uk it makes no difference but if you come from other parts of the world yeaa it worth specially if you are a person of meusiums and Irish history . Great seeing and the government has done a lot to promote tourism with loads of tour arrangements all over Ireland.
