I heard about the expensive price of a truffle burger. But, hey, does it really taste that good?

  1. idk but truffles are fungus. i would not want to eat that much less pay an outrageous amount of money for it

  2. I don't think a burger is worth an exorbitant amount no matter what you pile on top of it.   Thin shavings of truffle on a steak? Perhaps if I had the extra scratch, but a burger?  No way.  Only possible it would be worth it to me is if the meat was wagyu or honest to gods kobe, but even then, I'd rather have the whole steak than a chopped up burger..... when you grind meat like that, you alter the texture and flavor, not to mention, you lose a lot of flavor as fat when cooking a burger, and since wagyu has a very high ratio of fat to lean, you're paying through the nose for fat that just got cooked out of the meal!  So, I say, if you wanna try something truffled, try it over a ribeye or a porterhouse, not a burger.

  3. can think of so many better things to do with a truffle- is the beef wagu

white truffles from alba are about 3000 euros a kilo- black truffles alot less, but still its like mixing a top red wine with coke- if you have to use a cheap wine

  4. It depends.

Try a little truffle first, maybe some truffle oil.

Some people are crazy about them, others (myself included) can't stand the taste. They smell amazing, but the taste to me is not that great.

So if you decide you like them, then yeah I would say its worth the price.

But don't make the $1000 burger your first truffle experience, if you're gonna decide that you don't like them.

  5. I don't think anything could taste that good to earn that kind of price tag. For a few moments of chewing? Give me a mushroom swiss burger instead. Really, It's a burger.
