Is a wedding on a football field stupid?

My fiance LOVES the chicago bears and i wanted to surprise him with the location of our wedding i love to surprise him!! and some people tell me that i'm stupid and some people this its really cool...Tell me your opinions

It's not a stupid idea if it is important to you both. As long as it doesn't make a logistical nightmare for yourself and your guests, I say go for it!

i think its a good idea and your fiance will love it as long as that is what you want as well then go for it.

As a packer fan.........your idea sucks.  As a women I think it is brilliant!  It will make it memerable for you and your guests and will be a day he will never forget!  Weddings are for the girl but that will give him something HUGE to brag about to his buddies on game day for years to come!  Go for it!

It dosnt matter what other people think of your idea.  Its YOUR wedding Day!!!   If your Fiance would love the idea,  I say GO FOR IT!!!   Dont worry about what other people think....this is your day and the only persons opinion that matters is yours and your new husband.

It's pretty stupid to me, but I am not a fan at all. Don't let other's opinions stop you from doing what you want to do. I guarantee your fiancé will be overjoyed, and that's what should matter.

I love football, so I love the ideal. It's a way to imcorperate something that your fiance likes into the wedding.

Some have gone so far as to have the officiant dress as an official and the wedding party in team colors.

Most importantly have you looked into this at all?  The Bears (despite like of SuperBowl trips) still use the field July-Dec.  So that leaves Jan-June if that.  If they allowed you to rent it, it would have all sorts of restrictions to not tear up the field.  Jan-April/May in Chicago is miserable.  So pretty much you have to get it in June.

NOW If they even rent to the general public (which I doubt) it would be in the hundreds of thousands to rent it for a Saturday.

One idea is perhaps to contact the sales team and see about renting the Skyline Suite.  That's like 8000 sq ft.  Definitely lush and large enough for any wedding.  SALES CONTACT INFORMATION

So while personally I think it's a dumb idea, I also think it's a EXTREME waste of money.  Why not just get a Chicago Bears grooms cake or see how much it cost to get the mascot to come to your wedding?  I am a hockey fan of the Carolina Hurricanes and right there on the pg it asks if you would like Stormy to come to your event, click here.  That wouldn't be more than a couple hundred.

But if you really have a quarter million for your wedding, why not have a destination wedding and fly everyone someplace cool?  Why rent an outdoor place that doesn't even have comfortable seats and no flowers for pictures?

It's YOUR wedding, not anyone else's, so who cares what anyone else thinks? It should be a ceremony that is personal and comfortable for both of you, so as long as you accomplish that, then that is what matters. Are you thinking of getting married on a high school field or something? Don't think the Chicago Bears would let you get  married at their place...lol.

Just don't get married during halftime at a game- I saw that happen once (not at a Bears game, another team) and the whole crowd booed the entire time. Probably not what they had in mind when they booked it!

I think you should have a wedding that is unique and meaningful to you both.  If the football field will do that, you should go for it.

I think if it's fun and meaningful, it would be great!  I remember seeing an episode of A Wedding Story on TLC where the couple got married at the chapel inside a baseball stadium and had pictures taken on the field!  If football is really important to the both of you and you think it would be fun, then do it!!! It sounds creative and gives you an easy theme to work with!
