if you put a small windmill on a car, can it run off wind power?

    The energy required to push the windmill through the air is about 5 times more than you would get from it's generator.

  5. The problem with this is the direction you want to go and the direction of the wind.

    It is a lot like a sailboat.   If you want to to go north and the wind is out of the west, you can adjust sails and rudder and go north.  If you want to go north and the wind is out of the north, it is hard to do.
