  1. It depends on how you define sin in this case because sin has many different definitions depending on subject matter. The sin in this case would be that something went wrong in the formation of the fetus that causes the body to reject it, which was not something that the mother has full control over. So the contaminated fetus became sin or a foreign object to the healthy body of the mother. The mother did not sin and God caused a miscarriage as a punishment for the mother sinning. It was just not meant to be and the mother should not feel guilt that she did something against God for it to happen and keep trying to become pregnant.

  2. Absolutely not, it is a sign that something, anything, was not right with the with the impregnation and it had to be aborted naturally.

  3. I'm sure people were made to believe that in the Dark Ages.

    ---

*shrug* Reading up on random facts of the Dark Ages. It's not like I keep a list of books that I have read in my life right next to me at all times for reference.

  4. Yes. It indicates that there is sin in this world we live in- but not necessarily that she committed any specific sin.

Before sin- there was no death (miscarriage).

  5. No, it is just nature's way of dealing with something not quite right.

  6. No, sometimes it is a sign that there is something wrong with the baby

  7. Of course not. It was completely by chance. And menopause isn't a sign of sin, either.

  8. NO! and to even suggest that it is, is a terrible horrible thing!

Miscarriage is a biological reaction to bad cells. It can also be caused by trauma and extreme stress.

If you or someone you know has miscarried, please know that it was not your/their fault, and is certainly not a sin.

  9. No. We all sin, but that is not a sin unless it is intentional

  10. No;Not at all... We live in a polluted world and things happen.   Sometimes I believe that God just didn't want that little soul to have to go through this world.

  11. Unfortunately , a miscarriage is not ony unintentional , but something that your body has rejected for various health reasons. A woman should never feel ashamed due to somethuing that she cannot control. That is of course if she has done everything in her power to keep healthy through her pregnancy. So the answer is no , it is not a sin.

  12. Medical problem

  13. No, there is no such thing as sin...

  14. No.

It is a sign of evolution. The vast majority of mutations to the genetic code result in death. Only a tiny few live to be passed on and only a few of those are beneficial to survival and remain in the population.

  15. No.  It is terribly unfortunate though.

  16. No, not at all.

Above poster, if you're "sure" the medieval folks were taught to think so, what is the proof?
