  1. Are you wondering if it is bad on you physically and mentally or bad on the baby?

Some women that have abortions go on to live fulfilling lives and have more children someday.  Others are haunted with their decision.  I guess you really can't know how you will be until you have gone through it.

As for the baby, some believe it does not feel the pain, while others strongly disagree.  It is a very personal decision.  Make sure you know the facts and truths of both sides before making a decision.

  2. Of course they are 'really as bad as ppl make it to sound.' First, of all you think that you are getting rid of a human life (which you are). However, it will ALWAYS be in your mind- At every minute, every day of your life.

Just so you know, I have a few aquantinces that that had multiple abortions and let me tell you... now that some want children they can't. THey have miscarriages.  At this point their body doesn't know what to do when they become pregnant. It's like the body is thinking that there's a foreign object in the their and is trying  to expell it until they have the miscarriage.

Don't do it! You will FOREVER regret it!

  3. It's killing a child.  And I believe judging you is an appropriate thing to do.  There are other options that may not be as convenient for you but certainly will be better for your child.

  4. I wish I could give you a big hug !!!!  This is such an important decision, it will affect you every single day for the rest of your life whatever your decision is.  Abortion is murder, it sounds hard to say that but you can not soft soap the taking of a human life...  If you keep the child you will be so blessed and the kisses, smiles, hugs will make it worthwhile.

I know because I was where you are 22 years ago.  I was in a relationship with a soldier in the military and believed in love...  I became pregnant and was told by babys dad to terminate the pregnancy or he would abandon both of us !!!  I was terrified, I went to the abortion clinic and asked all the questions I could and decided to keep my little girl... Yes babys dad moved out after shouting at me, we have never seen him since but my daughter is beautiful...  She turned 21 in June and drives  a 20 tonne dump truck in the forestry.

She is now carrying my first grandbaby and I am so proud of her...

Try thinking of how much love you can give a baby...  Be brave and PLEASE keep your child, she only has 1 mummy and deserves to LIVE !!!!

  5. I really don't pro-choice says no and pro-life says agony. I would personally advise to carry the baby as long as possible, unless it will destroy your health prior to as long after 20 weeks as possible, then deliver prematurely if necessary for health reasons.

  6. no not at all... if you are sure and if you are not being pressured to do it then it's ok. how many weeks are you? are you getting medical or surgical abortion? i just had a medical abortion a week ago. And i'm ok now

  7. i believe in a woman's right to choice you do what you feel you have to do go with your gut

  8. I had an abortion in january and It's been a long hard battle for me to be able to forgive myself and accept that my baby and god have forgiven me also. I am pro choice because I feel young women like me don't have many options. Depending on how far along you are I think it's okay. More than half of all abortions are before 13 weeks. go to afterabortion.org and it should really help you emotionally and what to expect physically and help you make the decision. It's safe nowadays and people really aren't as judgemental as you think and it's not like you have to tell any body. If you do go through it, i'm here for support and I wish you all the luck in the world. And if anyone answers your question and are mean about it or call you names, ignore them. It's not their decision, it's yours.

  9. Because people view it as a life at conception.(Like I do), they feel that basically you're committing murder to a living thing by getting an abortion. I do feel that it's a life at conception but I also believe in it's the woman's right to choose, just wouldn't be mine.

  10. I am sure there will be a lot of angry replies to this post..  People tend to respond that way to politics, religion, and abortion.  Honestly, I think it is up to the individual.

An abortion is terminating the life of your unborn child.  There are a lot of studies around this and a lot of gray area.  Some claim that the baby can feel it, some say that its nerves aren't fully developed, etc.

I suggest doing some reading on this outside of here and making the decision that best fits your situation.

I wouldn't recommend using abortion as a form of birth control (not saying that is what you are doing) but I think this decision is a lot to think about and you should be the one to make the decision regardless of what everyone else says/thinks.

One thing to keep in mind is that some women have trouble getting pregnant later in life after an abortion.  If you do go with this option, make sure to look into the different clinics.

Here are some sites that you can look at:

  11. Go to prolife.com, and see for yourself.  Yes, it really is that bad, and anyone who says otherwise has never had one or known anyone who has had one.  Not just for the baby, either.  I'm talking about your health and future fertility too.

  12. first of all - there are going to be crazies answering your question with things like "why are you asking this in the pregnant section?  i am pregnant and want my baby and don't want to see this!"  IGNORE them.  they saw the question and didn't have to click on it and read it but they did.  they just want to make you feel terrible.

second of all - it is expensive, it hurts, and it is uncomfortable.  lots of cramps for a couple days - kind of like a period.  the bleeding is very heavy (blood clots the size of lemons sometimes).  you have to wear pads and that can be uncomfortable too.  good luck.

  13. yeah. It really is. Something that has a beating heart is alive. For some reason people don't look at unborn babies as human or something.. which is completely fricking stupid because we alllll started out that way and we are all living and breathing and if one of us killed another one it would be called murder... so.. why should it be any different just because its not fully formed yet?I really think some of the people who are all for abortion don't think.. I mean hey.. why not they are already born.. kinda selfish... well no "kinda" about it. Makes me wonder if those same people would help an old person who was injured... or keep going because hey.. they are old and going to die soon anyway. Same mentality. Abortion really only gets more horrid the further along you get in pregnancy. First few weeks it doesn't look like much but it starts to look like a baby pretty quick. Some people who wait till 20 weeks and get abortions... thats just an abomination..

It is actually hard to listen to if you have a heart but listen to what this lady says..

  14. Oh, I don't know.  It's only killing a human life that didn't ask to be created by irresponsible kids.  Not that bad right?

  15. abortion takes the life of yoru child and you can never take abortion back. your child will be gone forever . there are risks such as excessive bleeding, infection and emotial like guilt regret and depression there are places that can help you call Birthright 1-800-550-4900 God Bless

  16. It depends on how you define morality.

*These questions are so annoying. Even if you give a vague answer (like I did) people ASSUME it is a pro-life or pro-choice answer. In fact, it could be either.

  17. Yes it is very bad.It is killing a baby, they scrap the baby out of your body while its heart still beats.Just imagine its like some one taking a 3 month old or any aged baby and murdering them. Those fetuses turn into children and are part of our worlds future,What if your child is the next peace maker of this earth or the person who teaches parents how to raise handicapped children,Or perhaps the scientist who stops global warming.Having an abortion is playing god and totally denying that murder is murder and that it is the worst thing you can possibly do.

  18. It is as bad as killing your own child can be.   I would suggest adoption for you.

  19. Not judging anyone because everyone has their own reasons for getting one...but...my PERSONAL opinion of an abortion is murder because the moment that baby is conceived, he/she has a beartbeat, is feeding from you, and has already determined if he/she is going to be a boy or girl.  Good luck with whatever you decide but I hope it is a good enough reason if you do go ahead with it.

  20. if someone had unprotected s*x [i can see if the bc fails..at least you tried] and did not want to get pregnant and get pregnant anyways and get an abortion i think its horrible and selfish! but sometimes abortion is necessary. like rape, incest, poverty....but if you can afford the child and is not too young i think its kinda horrible. but thats my opinion i dont judge cuz i never know what may happen.....

  21. Read this and decide for your self. how would you feel to know that your mother could have had this done to you. please read all of this. and you might want to look at pictures of aborted babies.

Abortion is performed in many ways that can severely damage 'the mother'. It is also important for you to know that those who perform abortions receive special protection from liability, if you are injured. Essentially there are less legal safeguards to protect your health and maybe your life.

Suction Abortion; Also called vacuum aspiration, this is the most common abortion technique in use today. In this procedure a suction tube is inserted through the dilated cervix into the womb. A powerful vacuum tears the placenta from the uterus and dismembers the body of the developing child, sucking the pieces into an attached jar. There is a risk that the uterus can be punctured during the procedure. Also, the abortionist must take care that all the body parts are removed from the womb, as infection and hemorrhage can occur if fetal or placental tissue is left in the uterus.

DILATION AND CURETTAGE: In a D&C abortion, usually performed between seven and twelve weeks of pregnancy, the doctor inserts a curette, a loop-shaped steel knife, into the womb through the dilated cervix. As the curette scrapes the wall of the uterus, the baby is cut into pieces. Bleeding can be considerable. As with a suction abortion, there is a risk of infection or hemorrhage, so the abortionist must reassemble the body parts to make sure the uterus is empty.

DILATION AND EVACUATION (D&E): This method is similar to a D&C, except that forceps must be used to grasp the baby's body because of the child's advanced development. The baby is dismembered as the abortionist twists and tears the parts of the body and slices the placenta away from the uterus. Bleeding is profuse. Although relatively safe for the mother, the procedure is devastating to the hospital staff and many doctors refuse to do advanced D&E abortions.

SALT POISONING (SALINE INJECTION):"Salting out" is the second most common method of inducing abortion and is usually used after sixteen weeks. The doctor inserts a long needle through the mother's abdomen and injects a saline solution into the sac of amniotic fluid surrounding the baby. The baby is poisoned by swallowing the salt and his skin is completely burned away. It takes about an hour to kill the baby. After the child dies, the mother goes into labor and expels the dead baby. Saline injections have been outlawed in some countries because of the risks to the mother, which can include lung and kidney damage if the salt finds its way into her bloodstream. In spite of the horrible burning effect, some babies have survived "salting out" and been born alive.

HYSTEROTOMY; Similar to the Cesarean section, the hysterotomy abortion is a surgical procedure whereby the baby is removed from the mother's womb and allowed to die by neglect or killed by a direct act. This method offers the highest risk to the mother and produces the most number of live births. Hysterotomy is used only for late term pregnancies, and is sometimes used if the salt poisoning or prostaglandin abortion has failed.

PROSTAGLANDIN ABORTION; Prostaglandin is a chemical hormone which induces violent labor and premature birth when injected into the amniotic sac. Since prostaglandin results in an unusually high percentage of live births, salt, urea or another toxin is often injected first. The risk of live birth from a prostaglandin abortion is so great that its use is recommended only in hospitals with neonatal intensive care units. The risk to the mother is also greater with the use of prostaglandin; complications can include cardiac arrest.

  22. yes:

"Heavy Bleeding - Some bleeding after abortion is normal. However, if the cervix is torn  or the uterus is punctured, there is a risk of severe bleeding known as hemorrhaging. When this happens, a blood transfusion may be required.  Severe bleeding is also a risk with the use of RU486.  One in 100 women who use RU486 require surgery to stop the bleeding.

Infection – Infection can develop from the insertion of medical instruments into the uterus, or from fetal parts that are mistakenly left inside (known as an incomplete abortion).  A pelvic infection may lead to persistent fever over several days and extended hospitalization.  It can also cause scarring of the pelvic organs.

Incomplete Abortion - Some fetal parts may be mistakenly left inside after the abortion. Bleeding and infection may result.

Sepsis – A number of RU486 or mifepristone users have died as a result of sepsis (total body infection).

Anesthesia – Complications from general anesthesia used during abortion surgery may result in convulsions, heart attack, and in extreme cases, death.  It also increases the risk of other serious complications by two and a half times.

Damage to the Cervix - The cervix may be cut, torn, or damaged by abortion instruments.  This can cause excessive bleeding that requires surgical repair.

Scarring of the Uterine Lining – Suction tubing, curettes, and other abortion instruments may cause permanent scarring of the uterine lining.

Perforation of the Uterus - The uterus may be punctured or torn by abortion instruments. The risk of this complication increases with the length of the pregnancy. If this occurs, major surgery may be required, including removal of the uterus (known as a hysterectomy).

Damage to Internal Organs - When the uterus is punctured or torn, there is also a risk that damage will occur to nearby organs such as the bowel and bladder.

Death - In extreme cases, other physical complications from abortion including excessive bleeding, infection, organ damage from a perforated uterus, and adverse reactions to anesthesia may lead to death. This complication is rare, but is real. "

    *"Abortion and Preterm Birth:

Women who undergo one or more induced abortions carry a significantly increased risk of delivering prematurely in the future. Premature delivery is associated with higher rates of cerebral palsy, as well as other complications of prematurity (brain, respiratory, bowel, and eye problems).

    Abortion and Breast Cancer:

Medical experts are still researching and debating the linkage between abortion and breast cancer. Here are some important facts:

Carrying your first pregnancy to full term gives protection against breast cancer.  Choosing abortion causes loss of that protection.

A number of reliable studies have concluded that there may be a link between abortion and the later development of breast cancer.

A 1994 study in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute found: “Among women who had been pregnant at least once, the risk of breast cancer in those who had experienced an induced abortion was 50% higher than among other women.”

    Emotional and Psychological Impact:

There is evidence that abortion is associated with a decrease in both emotional and physical health.  For some women these negative emotions may be very strong, and can appear within days or after many years.  This psychological response is a form of post-traumatic stress disorder.  Some of the symptoms are:

    Eating disorders

    Relationship problems

    Guilt

    Depression

    Flashbacks of abortion

    Suicidal thoughts

    Sexual dysfunction

    Alcohol and drug abuse"
