  1. They are two completely different things.

  2. Definitely not. Acting can be thought of as theatre acting in local schools or local town stadiums, even broadway. (Sometimes, if you can get recognized by a producers or casting crews : Movies). All of which, you might now become "Famous" from doing.

Sure, one might be famous because of their acting in a movie. Only because they made a name for themselves and [usually] worked for it.

  3. No, they're not. I was a working actor for 25 years. I was never famous, but I had the incredible good fortune to do a job I loved for more than two decades. Talent will get you work. A lot of times it's luck and talent (or just luck) that get you fame.

And frankly, not every actor wants fame. Some of us just want to be able to make a living doing what we love, where we are.

  4. They are certainly not. Most famous people these days aren't actors, and most actors aren't famous.

  5. no!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    famous is being well know

acting is pretending to be something you're not

  6. Not the same thing at all.

  7. Acting and being famous are not the same things at all.

  8. No way! Famous people nowadays hardly act at all and actors aren't usually famous. What a crazy question.

  9. No, they are not the same at all. True, some actors are famous, but there are many actors who are not famous and many famous people who are not actors. They are two completely different things!

  10. Definitely not.  Sometimes they coincide, but you can certainly be an actor and never be famous, or be famous and never be an actor.  Think about it.  You must know of lots of famous people who aren't/weren't actors.

  11. I think you have the answer, and with no offense, have you never heard of Sports stars, Politicians, Religious terrorists, etc. etc. etc.???

I must also agree that the percentage of people who are "ACTORS" is a minority, as well as those who are FAMOUS.

Statistically in 2008 the median income for an Actor is just under $49 K, and at that scale I assume not many of those are famous, but certainly might fill several metro phone books.

To continue rambling, you might consider that ACTING is often accomplished by Politicians, Sporst celebs, etc. and Many of the most well known in any genre are as much INfamous as they may be famous.

  12. No way! Acting is a hobby being famous is something totally different. Fame sometimes comes when you are a popular actor but they are totally diff

  13. No. Acting is a passion, fame is a circumstance. Yes, acting can lead to fame, but it is certainly not the only thing that gets recognition. And acting most certainly does not always result in fame. In fact, it seldom does, but that doesn't mean that it's not a wonderful and praise-deserving art form.

  14. nobeing famous is being known for something if you're an actress/actor you love acting and are pursuing an acting career and well...you can be famous for acting but its not the samething
