  1. Yeah, it works.

    I've been a patient of both acupuncture and homeopathy. My favorite way is homeopathy (my husband's, too, as he's not into needles).

    As with all health care, the key is the practitioner: Training, experience, credentials and skill.

    Yoga is also great, especially if you ever sit in front of a computer and/or wear even small heels.


  2. Acupuncture is working for me.  Have had serious back & neck pain several months this summer.  Visited 2 different Chiropractors ...no relief.  

    Visited Acupuncturist for first time last week and again today.  Pain is gone.  Very relaxing experience.  

    Make sure you are dealing with a trained professional, then go for it!

  3. I treat neck pain all the time with success in my office.  If you are stressed, you want to also do some deep breathing exercise throughout the day to prevent muscle spasms.

    find a good practitioner and go for it! i have severe neck problems, too bad for surgery (7 bad discs in a row), and for many years the ONLY thing that actually helped was the accupuncture. including when i'd get a migraine from the disc pain, i'd go in for an accupuncture treatment and the migraine would be gone within 10-15 mintues.

    if you pay attention during your treatment, you can also see where the accupuncture points are that your accupuncturist uses to help you. then, you can do accupressure yourself when you feel the neck tension starting, wherever you may be! it's easy. my two best points are about 4" back from my wrist, on the top of my forearm...and about 1.5" down from the end of my pointer finger, near the fleshy part of my thumb. if you feel around these areas, you may find you have sort of lumps there, that may be tender to the touch. try pressing on them in a circular motion with your opposite thumb or forefinger for 1-5 minutes. you may find that this relieves some of your tension! (it works wonders for me.) there are other points in your upper arm, in front of your collar bone, and on the back of your shoulder blade that would help, but are really hard to reach by yourself. still, pay attention during your treatments, and if you have a partner who can help you at home, they can use their thumb or elbow on those spots at home to do accupressure.

    heat (heating pad or icyhot/tiger balm type stuff), hot baths, or hot showers also really help.

  5. Acupuncture is the way to go, it really does work...but, then, I don't care much for Western medicine, so mine is a biased answer.
