  1. Hardly! Adobe Reader is a large, slow, cumbersome reader ONLY of PDF documents. Adobe Professional is a VERY large professional set of tools that will cost you a LOT of money, from $400 on up.  


  2. Adobe Reader is used to view PDF files,

    whereas Adobe Acrobat Pro is used to create and modify the PDF files.

  3. You cannot create pdf files or modify them with just the free reader.
