  1. I think advertisement is DEFINATELY a waste of resources because maybe ever a little advertising would be okay but people go toward desperate measures when advertising. We are wasting ALOT of natural resources by doing so because majority of advertisement is made by paper, electricity (TV), etc. When we could be putting it for better use or not using the natural resources at all for this purpose. By doing so we could keep our community environmentally friendly. Media does not care much for this though, they even waste natural resources on advertising environmental friendliness!

  2. it actually promotes the growth of a country. See when a company promotes its products and services it tries to increase its sales and thereby revenue also increases. When a company makes money and earns profits, then it has the resources to diversify and increase its footprint across different sectors and countries. Dont u think in the enitre process new jobs are being created and the government is earning more money from the parent company and thus has more resources for the benifit of the people at large. Every sector has a role to play in the development of a country, therefore its more important to provide good education so that people can get employment and there standard of living rises.

Defence spending is a controversial topic; people say that the entire growth of US is due to the US government's defence spending in Iraq n Afghanistan. Not only that they supply arms and ammunations to most of the european countries and some asian countries. Huge companies employ thousands of highly qualified professionals both for R&D and manufacture of these weapon systems.

  3. Hi dear,

Advertisement is a apprent mean to deal with consumers. It require more flashy and fleshy advertisement to sale overpriced low standarded product.

Like in our India cricketers earn more by doing advertisment than playing cricket itself

  4. Advertisement is done 2 make people litterate abut te product

frm yhe view of advertiser ti is a necessary bt it shud be done in right place within right budjt & wth right info abt the prodct

If the product is nt upto the mark as per the Ads thn it spoils the grwth bt if the products r actually gd thn adds is excellnt.

At last the result of add depends upon the qlity of the matrial in d add

gd is the qlity.. bettr will b the reslt

  5. Hi Shank

Yes in many instances it is a waste of resources. For example: My Electricity supplier spends heaps producing a very "flash" newsletter which come with my electricity account. I would far rather they reduced my costs instead of this (in my opinion) extravagance. There are of course situations where advertising is appropriate. Like advertising train or bus timetables.

Hope this isn't too logical. Good to challenge these things - it shows you are a thinker.

  6. Apparently it works, that's why they keep making them.

  7. If Nike stopped spending money on advertisement they wouldn't just give the money to the poor or towards other good causes. It's their money & they are going to keep it. They put it towards advertisement to make more money. For example, they can spend 1 million on a commercial because it influences consumers to go out, shop, & allow them to make 2.5 million. Spending 1 million was worth it because they ended up having 1.5 million because of it.

If you stopped spending money on clothes, would you donate that money to charity instead?

  8. no not all, it helps to increase our community

  9. no.....not at all

  10. No..

if they were,, you weren't advertising your question here ! is it not ?

if it were, no one would pay huge money on it..

  11. ads helps us in knowing wats in market and to choose the best

  12. not at all.. ads are very useful in getting a customer close to the product. let funds for defense purposes of a country be diverted to help the poor
