Question:

Is aflac a rip off -How come my agent can't answer my questions?

My husband is the primary policy holder he gets Short Term Disability. My son and I have been added to the Accident and Hospital Confinement. I have the folders but to read through them is slightly confusing. There is no clear breakdown of all of the benefits of each individual policy. Something that I think that I understand is that only one policy will go into effect per claim?

We have had these policies for a year and a half.

Recently I had to go to the ER ( I was there for about 5 hours) because of a threatened miscarriage. The Aflac lady told me that she does not think that I'm eligible for a claim, because I was not admitted?!

I know I need to call the 1800 number. I'm just afraid they won't make any sense to me either.

One more thing -I know that in November I will be having a C-section Does anyone know what they will cover for that

If there are any People out there - who have experience with aflack and would like to share their knowledge I would appreciate it

  1. Aflac has a bunch of different plans, so no one here can know what exactly  they'll cover for your planned C section.

You're right, call the 800 number.  YOu can keep them on the phone, and ask them to explain in a different way, for hours, until they can explain in a way that makes sense to you.

  2. Call the 1-800 number again and don't give up until you understand their answers. Make a list of what you want to ask and be sure each question is answered so you can understand it.

You've been their customer for a long time. Just keep asking.

  3. I don't sell Aflac but I do sell a competitor, it is not a rip off. The problem is Aflac tends to burn through agents and the new agents really don't know much.

Your actual policy should spell out the benefits in a clear manner. If not your best bet is to call the customer support number, 1-800-992-3522

Aflac type products are not a good fit for everyone and are more appropriate for the blue collar and lower income employees.

With that said the accident plan typically pays set benefits for accidental injury which a miscarriage is not.

They have two types of  hospital confinement and both plans require you to be admitted before any benefits would be paid.

So it sounds like you hav enot be led wrong.

  4. I have heard bad things about that co.....

I would go and beat the **** out of the duck.

  5. Aflac is a company run by newbies agent, it have very poor training and the products are wash up.

I suggest you take a look at the company credit rating compares to other then look at the price.
