  1. I don't think so.  I think it's more of an Americanized Italian dish.  I don't ever remember my grandmother making that when I was a kid.


  2. No, it's based off of the traditional Fettuccine al Burro, but was largely created and popularized in America.

  3. nope, here in Italy we do not have that alfredo fettuccine.

  4. The version America is familiar with is not the same as the one the Italians made with cream and butter.  If you want to go traditional go with a red sauce or wine sauce.  Try puttanesca... it's delicious and very traditional
