  1. Volkswagen examined that question and after disassembling a diesel engine that used bio fuel the only problem they could find was a tiny build up of mold and they said it was so negligible that it shouldn't have any effect on the engine! Diesel should be less expensive than gasoline because it requires fewer processing step in the cracking towers!

  2. Yes,

If you want to use bio-diesel; no harm.

But keep in mind that the engines are tuned to perticular fuels to yield good. The biodiesel cars will have minor tune-ups to better the effeciency.

  3. if i remember correctly, some biodiesel mixtures could be bad on regular diesel fuel lines. just a swap out was the difference from what i remember.

  4. It does good . A diesel can burn all oils including lube oil.Lighter fuels like gasoline will damage the motor. The explosion is too fast.

  5. All diesel engines can use bio diesel, regardless of whether it’s a boat, truck, car, or tractor with little to no modifications. Myself I use B100 in 6 different tractors on my family’s farm, Also I use it in 2006 6.0L Powerstroke and a 1995 7.3L Powerstroke diesel with no problems. The power has been the same as well as the mpgs; with biodiesel the motor actually runs smoother.

The one thing to make sure of is that you have no rubber fuel lines biodiesel is good solvent and will eat through rubber lines. If you motor is older than a 1995 you may want to check your fuel lines for rubber. Also when switching over have a few fuel filters handy, because biodiesel is a solvent it will dissolve deposits in your tank and they will clog your filter, after a few tanks this will stop and you will have no more problems.  all diesels (except diesels that require the ultra low sulfur diesel but unless you have a 2007 or newer you don't have to worry), can run on bio diesel you just have to make sure you  don’t have rubber lines and any rubber seals other than that you motor should run fine. I believe your temperature range will be fine but if you want to be safe use a blend with regular diesel in the colder months.  You can try www.biodiesel.org, www.biodieselnow.com these are both good sites. Hope this was helpful.
