  1. It depends on what part of the U.S. you're talking about, really.  Some areas haven't had much water for quite some time, and I don't think we're in any danger specifically where I live unless the global climate shifts quite a bit.

The problem that I'm most aware of is the water resources in that large agricultural part of the country that used the be those nice, pretty prairies.  Prairies don't need much rainfall, so they were fine way back when before artificial irrigation. . . however, most stuff we like to eat likes more water than that, and it's obvious if you've ever seen all the green circles-inside-squares from an airplane.  The result is that I think they're sucking water out of the ground faster than it's often going back in, which means the water table is noticeably dropping if you look on the scale of decades.

  2. wait, now. Let me check my faucet.....

    ...Nope, we still have water!

Actually, only 15% of the world's water is fresh water. And the more that gets polluted, the more we have to cut down on the water we have. It is happening now, and some scientists and analysts do see some type of shortage happening sometime in the future.

  3. No.

The world is like 78% water. LMFAO.

    ksorry, but she lied.

  4. Yes. Fresh water is decreasing. The underground aquifers are drying out in places. Water is definitely something we should conserve. Look it up.

  5. The answer to your question is that America is not running out of water. For instance at the moment, you might notice flooding in Iowa. They have a bit too much water there.

However, parts of America are running out of water. South Florida is running out of water and is building desalinization plants. Same thing in Tampa. Houston is getting to the point of needing another source of water. And Southern California has been out of water for a very long time - they import some of their water from from the Colorado river.

So America isn't running out of water, but parts of it are. And it's not so much that they're running out of water, but that water is getting more expenive. There's plenty of water in the oceans, but desalinization costs a lot more money then just pumping clean water out of the ground.
