My 11 year old daughter went through a very awkward year last year. Was a total tom boy, shy, the tallest in her class (5'3), developing, and never caring about how she looked. She was teased a lot. Anyways, during the summer she has become more girly and wants to come back to school with more confidence and looking prettier. She is a gorgeous girl already, but now she is begging for highlights colored into her hair. I'm all up for building up her confidence (I and other have told her how beautiful she is but she doesn't feel it) and making her feel good about herself but unsure about the highlights. Is it too young? I've seen A LOT worse.

    • I was in the exact same postion! Tomboy, got more girly, and my personality had definatly changed! I asked to get high-lights but not being to pushy, I asked for natrual looking high-lights. She said YES. I got them a few weeks ago and my friends LOVED them and I totaly gained a bunch more confidence. What it boils down to is LET HER GET THEM :)
