I know with my score I won't get into any IVY League schools or anything but I am looking to go to schools in New England. Some schools I am looking into for example are BU, Northeastern, Emmanuel, Simmons, BC, Tufts, etc. Do I have a shot?

Also, my GPA is a 3.8 and I can probably make it a 3.9 or 4.0 by next year (i'm going to be a senior next year).

  1. You have a better than average score for the SAT. I'm not sure what you are referring to as a decent school. If a decent school for you is like NYU, UCLA, Tufts, BU, etc, then your SAT score is not high enough I would highly recommend you try to improve your score. Raising your score is hard, but definitely not impossible. Get a few review books and PRACTICE as much as you can. I highly recommend using tutorfox.com's sat review guide. For only 10 dollars, it offers much more information than the majority of SAT review books. In addition, also try using the Princeton Review's SAT review books for help. Your GPA looks good to me as it is pretty high, and when you say 3.8, you are referring to weighted GPA correct? I just think you need to boost up your SAT score, and have good entrance essays, and you will be fine.

  2. Yeah I'm sure you can get into those schools you named. Your gpa is definitely a positive factor. Remember colleges equally weigh out sat scores, gpa, and essays.. so sat scores aren't everything. But your scores are pretty decent so you have nothing to worry about!
