Question:

Is an Eliminator pool cue a quality cue?

I'm looking to purchase an NFL Eliminator pool cue for my boyfriend who is into pool and has a couple of cues of his own. It costs approx. $100. The shaft is Michigan hardrock maple with a wood to wood composite. I've done a bit of research and I believe that those features are what I'm looking for but I want to make sure that the Eliminator brand is quality and justifies me spending the money on it. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  1. Its a piece of c**p

  2. My advise to anyone looking to buy a cue for someone that plays pool and already has a cue or cues is ask them what they need.  Most players who already own equipment probably like what they are already using, unless it is an upgrade.  I can't imagine the Eliminator to be an upgrade for anyone who plays a bit more on the serious side.  Also you don't want a cue that has a fiberglass coating on the shaft because it will get very very sticky, regardless of what they say about being so smooth.  So find out what he needs, just because there is no sense in giving it to him if he doesn't need it.  Maybe look into a pool case, chalk holders, ultimate tip tool, or some videos or books in place of a cue.  Hope this helps a bit.

  3. eliminator sticks are great, if you are a beginer, so unless he would like to put up his new nfl stick up over the bar at home for decoration i wouldnt get it for him.  u can never go wrong on buying a break stick for a serious player, it will always get used.

  4. Cece I wouldnt play with one so if Mama bought it for me it would be a dust collector

There some better brands that have team logos on them but not for a hundred dollars

Like Kracker said maybe better look at equip.Cases with logos  or whatever

  5. If he's a serious pool player I wouldn't reccomend it as a stick for regular use however if it is his favorite football team he would more than likely appreciate it as a keepsake.  If he's a novice player and it's in better condition than his other cues he might use it all the time.  All in all it sounds like a great gift idea for 80 to 100 dollars.
