i was surfin thru IQ testing website nd i gt an IQ level of 140 nd above...is it gud??................but my marx dnt show dat,....i used 2 be an outstanding student wen i was in grades 1-5...but since grade 6 my marx hav started going downhill......nd just recently my marks started improvin'.............ne suggestions 2 start getting outstanding grades yet again??

the average IQ is around 100-120 i believe (so you are above average) and no marks in school or tests can ever show anyones true intelligence. there are so many types of intelligence they cannot test them all to see how smart anyone really is.

to get better grades in school... turn in every assignment, always ask for help if you dont understand, raise your hand in class when you have a question (i promise someone else has the same questions!), study the best way for you (you might have to try many ways to find the best, like... note cards, recopying your notes, typing them on the computer, writing outlines, making charts, or even teaching it to someone else or reading it outloud. one of the best ways to truly learn something is to teach it to someone else), and always have a good relationship with your teachers who can help you to make the grades you want... make sure to tell them you want to do well in their class and tell them to let you know if your grades slip so you can stay on top of them.. its easier to bring up one or two bad grades, but impossible to bring up too many or zeros (again, turn in ALL your work always!) teachers have little sympathy for someone who doesnt turn in their work and try, but they are normally willing to help someone who shows they are trying! I hope you have the motivation to keep working hard, I promise it will pay off! Middle school and high school are very important, you have to have good grades to get into good colleges, but more importantly to get good scholarships... theres plenty of free money for colleges to students with good grades! No, you can't study for an IQ test because it measures something else rather than knowledge.   IQ tests online are only games and their scores may or may not be valid.  If you're curious about your IQ, get tested at your local college counselor's office.

BTW, the average score is 100.  The average range is generally taken to fall in a band from 1 standard deviation below 100 to 1 standard deviation above 100.  The size of the standard deviation depends on the particular test taken.  Many standard deviations run about 15-20 or so, but some are higher or lower.

I think most of the online tests will give you a higher number than you would actually rate on a "real test." They do this just to get you excited and interested to buy whatever report they are selling. Sorry for that bad news, but it's true. If you want to know your true IQ, you would need to go to a legitimate testing facility. Be prepare to pay for the test.
