one) it's an Accounting degree or a degree in Accountancy.

and two) no more then a degree in accounting from another country would be worthless in this country. Currently FASB is trying to move GAAP standards closer to what the IFRS is doing but most countries have a variation of what true IFRS says.

To answer your question, unlike the above pretentious poster, no an American accounting degree would not be worthless outside the country, however, you would have to learn additional material, but for the most part, the foundation is the same. Think of it this way, I could build a house here in the states, and have it shipped across the sea to another country. When it arrives I would simply have to make minor adjustments to the home to conform to that countries' codes, but in a nutshell, the home would be the same.
