Is an american carreer equivalent in Europe?

hello, I would like to study to become an optometrist and I understand that the university system is different in Europe. In the future I would love to move to Spain and work there as an optometrists but study for the carreer because i obviously don't have the money to move and study there. How does that work? would i still be considered an optometrist? Or would they make me pass some sort of test or make me study more in Spain , if anyone could help me out , I;d appreciate it very much thanks

  1. As a foreign student, you will need to have a very good grasp of Spanish. I recommend you the Universidad Complutense in Madrid; the ones in Barcelona are good but get VERY touchy with the local language, Catalan.

    First of all, you first must study something related to medicine as an undergraduate (a 3-year diplomatura or a 6 year licenciatura) and after that get an MA in optometry (3 years). The advantage over US universities is that they're quality universities that are mostly funded by the government, so it gets pretty cheap.
