No, a peer-reviewed journal is something that is published for a specific audience.  For example "Advance" is a magazine with nursing articles specifically for nurses.  "American Scientist" is specifically geared toward scientists.  These publications are peer reviewed.  Anyone reads the NYT.


  2. i'm not sure, but i don't think so. usually peer-reviewed comes from scholarly journals and such, and it'll tell you at the end of the article or in the table of contents if it's peer-reviewed.  

  3. No.; It is possible, on occasion and at the discretion of an editor, to submit a tendered article to outside experts for review. This, however, is not necessary or common and not a regularized process, as it is in a truly peer-reviewed journal.
