  1. Yes, it is becoming more acceptable but the children at that age will still need an adult to guide them.

  2. I believe so. Each school of thought has a lot of good to offer so it's best to combine those and come up with something more complete and well-rounded.

  3. The approaches all have validity.  I believe the method used should be based on the individual child's needs.  I have certainly seen positive results from all sorts of different teaching methods.
