Is an english degree more reputable than a religious studies degree?

Religious studies major is really only for those planning to go on to the ministry in their own particular religion, for example, continuing with theological seminary.  It has absolutely no practical purpose in the business world or anthing else.  Outside one's particular religious organization, it has less-than-zero reputation.
