  1. Ahhhhh!!!! no wait, mm eggs are good

  2. An excused absence will not qualify for perfect attendance.

However, if you are thinking of sending her to school with lice eggs (nits) in her hair all you are doing to asking for her to miss more days later when she gets lice AGAIN!

It stinks to miss when they are feeling good, but it is soooo contagious and will only create a vicious cycle around the classroom.

Anyway, a quick way to help get those nits out is this:

1 part white vinegar (less if it irritates the skin)

    1 part water

    1 nit comb

Spray/pour liquid on just cleaned and combed hair.  Let sit for 15 minutes then use nit comb to slide nits right out.  This is not a one time deal.  It will take a couple of days to get them all out, but it works.

I soaked my daughter's hair in thick conditioner everynight every 3 nights for 4 weeks and then washed out in the morning.  This smothered the lice and then they just washed away.  You have to do this for a few weeks to make certain that any leftover nits don't turn into more lice.

    Good luck!

  3. perfect attendance means your there every single day even excused absences ruin it.

Now what do you mean she has eggs in her hair? lol seriously? Lice eggs? Chicken eggs?...

  4. Sadly, even if the absence is excused, she's still absent. So no, she won't have perfect attendance :(

But do keep her home. Keeping the lice "contained" is better than having her spread it to the other children, and have perfect attendance :)

  5. hey... yes it will... but u should never send ur child to school with lice eggs in her hair, if the teachers see her scratching she'll be sent home anyway and if they know she has lice they wont accept her back before it is completely treated, my advice go and get some lice lotion.. like Lyclear which takes like 10 mins before she goes to school, put it on her hair, wait the 10 mins, wash it out and hey presto she's ready to go! no day off school and no lice!

  6. why not get the eggs out of her hair?  If the eggs are still alive, you shouldn't be sending her to school.  Why should perfect attendance affect your decision?  If she shouldn't be going to school, she shouldn't be going to school...

  7. yes excused absences still count as an absence....it just isn't counted in the final end of the year thing of if you have 10 absences you have summer school. but it is counted as just an absence. and try putting mayonnaise in her hair.....that's what i had to do when i have lice once.

  8. No. Just send her in the eggs won't spread. The only way to get them is pull them out 1 by 1 or comb everyday and catch them when they hatch.

  9. In our school system, an absence is an absence, excused or not. No matter what the excuse, it still counts as an absence, thus ruining the perfect attendance record. One of our children missed 1 single day last year and didn't get perfect attendance. But she was very sick so she really had to stay home.

  10. What's the big deal with perfect attendance?

If the child was healthy all year, that's something to be grateful for, not something to reward.

If a child is ill/has head lice and is sent to school in pursuit of perfect attendance, my gosh...how immoral is that?

    All the best.

  11. yea it will mess up her perfect attendance but if u send her and she starts scratching she'll be sent home anyway

  12. An absence is an absence. Excused absence just means she won't get negative consequences for being gone. But if your dealing with lice keep her out of school. The hundreds of other kids and parents will thank you.

  13. You should keep her home to keep the lice from spreading.  The school probably has rules about that and will send her home early if they find out she has them.  Yes, it will affect her perfect attendance, but that's life.  You have to think of the other kids in her class.  I'm sure they don't want to catch lice.  Besides, if you send her to school and start spreading it around the classroom, she will get it again and have to stay home then.
