  1. Nope.

You need a valid passport and a valid form of id.

  2. expired is expired no matter what type of ID it is everywhere old DL, not valid old passport even less always keep it up to date and fast i got mine b4 my vaca and my sis got hers later and prices went up on them

  3. An expired passport  is not usually considered acceptable I.D., but the TSA site does not use the word "current" when it lists passports for I.D.  You could call your airline and ask for sure.

  4. No, you need to get a new one.  You send in your current (expired) passport, 2 new passport photos, $75, and they send the expired one back to you with the new one.  Expedited service is also available if you need it.

I'm not sure why you would need it for domestic travel except for additional ID.  Many places will not accept an expired driver's license as a "valid" ID because once it expires, it is no longer "valid".
