i had posted one of my project ideas on a public forum. later, i completed it, added details to it and then sent it to a magazine for publishing and they have agreed upon it. as a pre-requisite they have asked to me sign a certificate which says.. "I have neither offered nor intend to offer this article in future for use in any other publication or book."

what should i do?, is there any alternative? getting my article published in that magazine means a lot to me.

  1. No, a public forum is not considered a publication. After you offer them the piece, they will own the rights to it. They do not want some other publisher profiting off of something they own. To be safe, I would suggest you delete it from the forum.

  2. Sure.

    Why not?

If it helps in solving the misery of living human kind in time.

The publisher will have to take the responsiblity.

After the work had been publish.

In case someone make a claim and pass it off as their work.

Which mostly do happen in time.

    What do you think?

  3. where did you post it? can you delete the post? if you can then you could do that. if not i think you should just ask the publisher. they'll probably be understanding....
