I'm not allowed to have a real grill where I'm currently living but I miss grilling. I've seen a lot of electric grills on TV. Do electric grills taste the same? Which do you recommend?

  1. I have really enjoyed my george foreman grill.

i have one that is large enough to do steaks, chicken breast, several hamburgers, pork chops.  I also use it to cook sliced bacon, grilled veggies, and grilled sandwiches.

I prefer to grill outside, but if I don't have time or i'm not able to get outside, this is a great second place.

  2. I have had several types of electric indoor grills, including the Foreman and I have an accessory that plugs into my gas cook top enabling me to grill inside.  My biggest beef with all of them is that they make a greasy mess of the kitchen.  The open ones splatter grease as they grill and the ones with a cover, splatter when you open the lid.  As for taste, you will notice a difference if you grill with charcoal outside because the indoor grills don't impart that flavor.  But, if you grill with propane or natural gas, there is really little difference in taste.  If you don't mind the clean-up, but love grilled veggies and meats, the Foreman grill is much improved over the earlier models and will give you the grill marks with less grease than other models.
