  1. *Ambiguous!

    *pl. read:

"Most well-nourished people in industrialized countries have 3-4 grams of iron in their bodies. Of this, about 2.5 g is contained in the hemoglobin needed to carry oxygen through the blood. Another 400 mg is devoted to cellular proteins that use iron for important cellular processes like storing oxygen (myoglobin), or performing energy-producing redox reactions (cytochromes). 3-4 mg circulates through the plasma, bound to transferrin."

  2. I am surprised you would ask this question to engineers who have no blod in their veins, only coffee. A phone call to your local blood bank will probably provide you with the iron levels they consider normal. Some people have too much iron some too little. Those outside of those limits are rejected as donors. There are other blood criteria as well, such as low platelett count which will effect some potential donors.
