An online petition is circulating about a family member. He is going through a very difficult time and is dealing with some mental health issues. He is separated from his wife and is a teacher. The petition calls for him to be removed from his teaching position based on inappropriate conduct as rumors make him out to be a violent and angry man. These rumors are unfortunate, inaccurate, and salacious and are addressed in a comments area on the petition. Does he have grounds for a civil suit based on the matter?

  2. Maybe.  Consult a lawyer.

  3. If the enclosed facts are untruthful then he has a case, if they are truthful then that would be an affirmative defense.~
