Is anti-feminism geared mainly toward Caucasion women?

Particularly in a professional sense?

Rarely do I hear a lot of jibing at African American, Latino, or Asian American women for working and mothering at the same time. Perhaps the acceptance of this practice was borne out of necessity?

Many minority children have socioeconomically advanced due to the success of two income households. Second generation descendants of immigrants and many black collegiates like myself and peers probably could not have advanced.

  1. Not really sure. Part's of feminist thought and theory do make sense(both parents working so they both have more energy and time for the family and each other), But it is the discrimination in the educational system(feminist's lieing and distorting statistics in the 90's to show that school was anti girl but by the time it was debunked it was too late), the judicial system(women not getting punished the same as men even if they committed identical crimes and had identical records)

and in the family court(judges routinely demanding that men pay high child support and alimony payments while if a women is forced to pay 25$ a month it would be a miracle), lack of reproductive rights, paternity fraud.

True feminism is not the cause of all men's rights problems.

Some yes like discrimination in the educational system and discrimination in government assistance programs.

But in other issue's like paternity fraud feminist's get in the way and make the decision to oppose men's rights.

Most of those radical feminist's are caucasian. So ask them about it.

A real men's rights activist is not a mysgonist, because to allow the government and society to discriminate against one group risk's allowing the government to discriminate against all groups of people that make up our nation.

If we are not prepared to stand up for others how could we ever defend our own rights and demand equality, equity?

  2. I know the answer but I will be dubbed as a racist.

  3. From MY experience... its mostly White and Black women who get "big headed" about any success they achieve without a man's help.

They act like it makes them special to do WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO... which is taking care of their business.

    American women are too trivial.

  4. Labour and mothering is openly practices by minorities because they have always been forced to work because of their economic situation.

Feminism as a middle/upper-class heterosexual white women's movement has fought for rights that were not given to women but that were already being practiced by the lower classes, in which racial minorities happen to be over-represented.

There is much less acceptance of this practice among upper-class and middle-class white families because historically it has equated to downward social mobility.

Let's not forget that feminism is a predominantly white movement, and therefore the actions and reactions within and surrounding the movement will mostly come from white culture.

Third wave feminism has made an effort to be more inclusive, but because feminism is not homogeneous there are many different factions. We live in a white-dominated society and as a result it is white feminism and the reactions it receives from white culture that will be gain more visibility.

Meanwhile, there are several feminist issues and reactions to feminism that occur within minority cultures themselves. I would encourage you to look into those, as they are very interesting and relevant and deal not only with feminism, anti-feminism and the particularities of minorities, but also with intersectionalities of systems of oppression.

As an introduction, you can start with a documentary called NO! The Rape documentary. It discusses the issue of rape from a black feminist perspective and addresses reactions of black men towards this feminism, as well as the intersectionalities of black rights activism and women's rights activism.

  5. I guess you are onto something here. Yes you are correct, most 'feminist' hatred is directly to white women by white men. But I don't know why that is except that it is a good way to insult women.

  6. I would think it to be more so, the stereotype that white women, when married are capable of staying home with the children because the husband is able to care for the whole family, not an incapability of the woman doing the balancing act. An expectation more. While a minority would stereotypically fall under the " financially unable to not do a double income," simply because they are a minority.

  7. Most, or maybe even all of openly men-hating or family-hating feminist literature was written by Caucasian women living in English-speaking areas, like USA, Canada, Australia and UK.

Asian women or Latina women, black women in Africa, Muslim women in Middle East do not see any benefit in their salaries or working hours while working for a feminist household. They are often treated badly by rich feminist women. There is a big difference between a poor woman from a developing country working as a maid and a financially well-off feminist-orientated woman in the USA working as a professor or lawyer. Such rich feminists are not into sharing their wealth with poor female immigrants.

It is understandable that anti-feminism is directed against some certain people only, most of them Caucasian females, but sometimes also males who see some advantages for themselves in promoting feminism.

Feminism is not into equality and to no surprise, many men, but also married women, women with boys, poor women etc. are rejecting feminism for good reason.

  8. Because minorities often have it tougher. For them it is not a "Power to the women!" thing, it is a "I need to make sure I can put food on my childs plate" thing.

Plus, to be honest it is usually the white feminists who are the worst(I am a white guy). Most of them are upper class and are bored. Whereas minorities want the freedom to succeed. Most minorities say "We are in this fight with our men at our side", and the bored white feminists say "We are being oppressed by male blah blah blah... Our fight is with all men"

  9. Good question.  I don't have an answer.  It' a very good point, too.  I look forward to seeing the responses.

  10. Feminism isn't specifically about choosing career over family. Many feminists do choose career though, and it's probably for the better.

Someone who doesn't really want a family wouldn't make a good mother anyways.
