Is anti-perspirant unhealthy?

If we can eliminate toxic from sweats, does anti-perspirant block the sweat glands? Where the sweats goes while we are wearing anti-perspirant, does it just stay in the body?

I know we need to wear it in hot summer. Just checking if there's any natural anti-perspirant. Does alum rock work?

  1. Some people do believe that anti perspirants are harmful - I have a sister who refuses to use anything but baking soda or lemon as a deodorant. She has the opinion the aluminium in deodorants can cause problems I can see where there could be a problem with the thicker types that coat the skin in white powder, these must block the pores and could even be a contibuting factor in lymph glands swelling or getting lumps.

In general use lightly and wash frequently is best option for the comfort of yourself and those who must be around you as when nothing is used the stench is vile.

  2. Anti-perspirants are unhealthy.

We were made to sweat out toxins and such, and the aluminum is small enough to get lodged in sweat glands.  Aluminum can stay in the body through anti-perpirant.  It can cause problems to your health, such as thyroid conditions, and even aluminum has been linked to alzheimer's disease.  Some anti-perspirants contain up to 25% aluminum!

Try some natural variations of anti-perspirant.  They probably won't get rid of all the sweating.

Try rock crystal salt deodorants.  They are made from salt and aluminum. Although it still has aluminum in it, it's a safer kind, as well, the particles are large, so they won't get stuck in your glands.

Otherwise, try brands that help decrease bacteria growth (which causes the smell of underarms).  For example, pick one with tea tree oil, or citrus extracts to kill the bacteria.  These deodorants won't have any aluminum in it.

I heard from someone that they use the rock crystal first, let it dry, then put on JASON deodorant (natural deodorant without aluminum).  They said it works better combined rather than the 2 on their own.

  3. Its not your sweat that's bad, its the bacteria that feed on it. Antiperspirant is composed of aluminum compounds, its safe.

  4. try J/a/s/o/n , I like the lavender.

  5. Antiperspirant doesn't block the sweat glands directly, but instead swells tissue near the surface of glands to prevent the release of sweat droplets onto the skin's surface. Two active ingredients  of antiperspirant, wax and some form of aluminum are used to accomplish this.

Since we (humans) are sweating constantly, sweat that was "destined" be released though our armpits will likely be released elsewhere. Although antiperspirant does prevent the release of sweat where applied, the majority of our skin's surface is still unaffected and can perform the necessary integumentary (skin) functions.

I'm not familiar with natural antiperspirants and alum rock, so lots of luck finding answers to that. Anyway, I hope this post helps.

  6. I've tried the natural "rock" deoderants, but they only worked well in the winter.

Secret has some perfumed deoderants that cover odor very nicely, my favorite is Vanilla Chai, and Soft & Dri Pulse works for me, but not this week....at 114 degrees in Phoenix, no antiperspirant is gonna work !

  7. No it doesn't block the sweat glands. It actually keeps the sweat from smelling and just pretty much evaporating. I would use Mitchems. I use it looks like i never sweat, its fantastic. If your really concerned, ask your doctor. I hope this helps!

  8. It is not unhealthy

  9. no it is perfectly fine, google it

  10. It's anti-perspirant deoderants that are unealthy.Anti-perspirant on its' own is fine.
