none of those are the right socket type

doesn't the stock cooling work if your not overclocking?

you need one that is compatible with socket AM2 and if you dont mind paying 30-40 dollars look on newegg.com

Nope. None of them will even fit on a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+.

All of those were made for different sockets. Number 1 and 3 were made for socket LGA 775. Number 2 was made for a BTX form factor motherboard, something i doubt you have.

You need to look for a cooler that is made for AM2/AM2+. Spending so much money on a 6400+, I would not cheap out on a cooler. Having a proper cooler will perpetuate the longevity of your processor. Buying a 10/20 dollar cooler will just let your 6400+ fry.

Is this a trick question?

Link one is for a stock cooler for an INTEL processor.

The second is for a BTX Motherboard. Is your motherboard BTX or ATX? If its ATX then this wont work either.

And the third one is for an Intel BTX motherboard.

Is your proc mfg not clear? It's an AMD Processor. Buy a heatsink fan for an AMD Processor. Also you need to find out if your motherboard is ATX or BTX.
