I mean I include myself also in that I don't know every single policy issue of the candidates but I hear people on Y/A and just the general public who don't know basic facts or just get all their info from talking heads on TV. It's kind of amazing. Where are they getting their information or are they even making informative opinons on candidates and the issues and is it all just emotional? It's kind of depressing actually.

  1. the american people are sleep walking and are in some kind of collective

amnesia (  Abu Ghraib ???anyone,  water boarding? a war that can't be won costing 9 trillion dollars and expanding to Pakistan and Afghanistan

possibly Iran? maybe Georgia?)   If Americans  are going to elect people because of their "American Idol" potential, well, then it is said that a country gets the leadership is deserves.  Hopefully, Pain will be raptured soon-I hear they are lacking pit bulls with perfume in heaven.  Leaving a few toothless wolves , a smattering of polar bears, Satan and his hosts and us poor slobs left behind!!!  I can hardly wait!!!

  2. I am.

    Amazed and saddened.

  3. No, just saddened by the fact that poor education and ignorance and dis-interest are so rampant in our free society.

  4. Yes.  It's just awful.  The first-world is so biased in America's favour, and nobody knows the other peoples' side to the story.  We don't see the sobbing widows of slaughtered civilians in Iraq, the Cubans that are happy with their way of life.

  5. Too  bad  the  candidates  who  want  the  offices  don't  even  know  what  the  issues  are.   If  they  did  they  would  be  telling us  what  they are  going  to  do  about  the  problems  we  face  instead  of  slinging  mud  at  each  other.   It  used  to  be  the  candidates  would  tell  you  what  they  are  going  to  do  about  what  in  their  commercials  on TV.   Thirty  years  ago  candidates  were  too  dignified  to  sling  mud  as  it  makes  the  slinger  look  worse   than  the  person  he's  throwing  the  mud  at.  Todays  candidates  are  too  ignorant  to  know  how  to  be  civil  and  talk  about  the  issues.  They  don't  realize  how  bad  they  are  making  themselves  look.

  6. i was amazed about 10 years ago but not anymore.  its sad when to get real news on the actual issues about your country you have to go to places like the BBC (England) and Agence Press (France).

  7. I watched the conventions on C-SPAN. There aren't any talking heads, I am not told what I just saw/heard and what I should think. I listen to NPR for unbiased news. There is BBC World, France24 and Deutsche Welle, to get international news. You can read the press releases on Yahoo, it's the same info the bobbing heads on FOX News like to distort.

There is plenty of unbiased info out there.

  8. The best we can do is watch and listen to everything out there, because the media is so slanted one way or the other.

  9. Ignorance would assume a degree of innocence and lack of brainwashing.  The depth of brainwashing is phenomenal to foreign observers.  The US 'educational' system removes all doubt that you might not be the center of the universe and that 'if you aren't for us you're against us.'  There is plenty of information available but you need uncorrupted software (of the mind) to process it usefully.

    Check the oxymoron just above..

  10. I find it sad that we live in the greatest society in the history of civilization and at least 95 percent of our news sources are slanted to promote either a liberal or conservative agenda.

  11. So where are we gonna get our info? The liberal blogs?

  12. Good point.

I myself do all the above to get general info   ...but then I research what Ive heard from those sources for factual authenticity.
