Question:

Is anybody else having trouble logging on to the Yahoo Music Jukebox?

I talked to Tech support at Yahoo, and they told me that I had to post the question online at help.yahoo.com, however the website doesn't want to work. It tells me to activate JavaScripts and all ActiveX controls (I've used both on other websites.) So I was referred to Microsoft and this guy couldn't make it work either. He even tried to send the form from his computer using IE6, IE7, Mozilla Firefox and Netscape. No love. Annoying. Anybody else having similar problems?

  1. Never encountered any problem with the Yahoo! Customer Support help forms.  Try em here:

    http://yme.music.yahoo.com/qos/index.htm...

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/music/g...

If you still can't get it to work, try installing:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

I've been using Windows Script 5.7 for over a month and no problems. I am using Windows XP SP2, IE 7 with all Microsoft Windows Updates applied.  I assume the Microsoft guy had you check your IE security settings for Active X and Javascript (Jscript).  No guarantees on this one. Have you upgraded Windows Media Player to WMP 11?    Also are you on V 2.2.2.056 of the Yahoo Music Jukebox?  That is the latest version. You might  want to click Edit, click Preferences under YMJ  and make sure your Audio Settings Bandwith is set correctly for Broadband or Dial Up.  Try deleting your Yahoo cookies.  If you still can't get on to YMJ, try using another Yahoo Id (create one if you must).

  2. I had problems logging in the first couple of days.

When I clicked the "Upgrade" link in YMJ, it seemed to "break" my login.  The login was correct but there was an "unexpected error."

After trying to file a trouble ticket with Firefox and finding out AFTER filling out all the forms that it doesn't work with Firefox I switched to IE 7 and got through.

The problem fixed itself before I got their response. But I was dumb enough to click "Upgrade" again and the same thing happened. I filed another trouble ticket and got back on  a few hours later.

I've never touched the Upgrade link again for obvious reasons.

Their responses came in after the problem was fixed in both times -- but they did assign an "escalation specialist" or something to it. It seemed like perhpas the emails got to me late... the first one received was the escalation. I guess that's Yahoo mail for you? Heh.

Anyhow, in reviewing the messages, it seemed like they took it seriously but it wasn't exactly instantaneous.
