  1. I was thinking of going to this: http://jcics.org/Annual_Conference.htm

Joint Council Medical Institute and Conference

    "Creating Permanency Through Families:

Intercountry Adoption's Role in Child Welfare"

    Wednesday, April 09, 2008 - Saturday, April 12, 2008

The Liaison Capitol Hill, An Affinia Hotel

(formerly the Holiday Inn on the Hill, as of April 1st)

    415 New Jersey Ave, NW

    Washington, DC

Registration is now open for both the Medical Institute (April 9, 2008) and Conference (April 10 - 12).  Sign up now to attend one or both of these events.  Participants who sign up for all four days receive a special discounted rate!  See our registration page to learn more.

  2. I will be going. I need a vacay from work anyways.

  3. My husband says I can go, but I have to go alone. It changes almost daily. That's what he said today. I'll let you know what he says tomorrow. One day we have the money, the next we don't. I have a feeling if I am more diligent in my wifely "duties", he'll cave. He usually makes things work, he just likes to make me sweat it out. Plus he wants more "action". So, I may have to give this hobby up around June. UGHHHHHHHH!!!!! If you know anyone from my area who wants to carpool, that would be great. His brother owns a fleet of planes, maybe he can talk him into flying us out. I'm thinking out loud.

Dang it, I do not want to miss this conference. This is history in the making and I want to be able to say "I was there". Plus, I really, really want things to change.... This means alot to me.

AWWWW.... that poster below me always says the funniest, most inspiring things. I AM GOING!!!!!!!

  4. I'm going to the protest as well. Flight and hotel booked and paid for, passport being done on Monday, cute new clothes and luggage after that.

There is no way I would miss this. No human rights issue was ever solved without humans demanding change.

  5. Every november this group offers very informative classes.  I am not a member.  Nor do i agree with everything this group stands for but they invest a lot of time and effort into their classes.  I only attend classes where the instructor is an adult adoptee.  They offer me invaluable advice on racism, diversity, haircare, multi-racial families, and ideas on how i can best support my daughters.

  6. I'm going to the adoptee rights protest on July 22  in New Orleans, LA at the National Conference of State Legislature’s Annual Meeting.  It will give us an opportunity to raise awareness AND to speak with legislators about sealed records discrimination.
