Who cares what Boris looked like?

Who cares if they didn't spend a fortune in the closing ceremony?

Who cares who they use and how it's planned for 2012? It a sporting event not who has the most fireworks IMO it should be ran by the atheletes and sporting commisions and not politicians and film directors.

I don't care about any of the above, i'm glad they are finally over it will stop certain people whinging and moaning about every little thing.

Just be glad we have had our best run of gold medals since the turn of the last century. Instead of moaning about this and moaning about that and how boris dressed himself have pride in your athletes for their achievement's.

If your so worried about 2012 and how it is held go get yourself some experience and bid to run it yourself otherwise leave them alone to plan it after all they have 4 years.

  1. I live in dread of what's going to happen, after all they have exceeded the original budget ten fold! Give them four more years and just see how good these people are at spending someone elses money. There are far too many organisations involved and most are parasites - let's hope Boris can sort that lot out. As for the atheletes - well good luck to all who are training for 2012.

  2. london 2012 is a waste of money in my opinion, spending 9.3+ billion just to watch other countries **** on our heads, sort it out britain

  3. I could not agree more, it is more of a staged media/political event than an athletic competition.

  4. you're absolutely right. i think our opening ceremony should be the starting pistol of the first event. no fireworks etc. just get on with the games

  5. I agree.

  6. Well yes, I for one do care.

The last four Olympic games have been wonderful, the opportunity to show the world the extent of our energy and imagination should be grasped firmly and taken full advantage of for the benefit of the country as a whole.

I believe that this country of ours is full of talent and should be given full reign to achieve its full potential.

During the Games in China one thing was evident amongst all athletes, 'the feel good factor', our own athletes have made comments that because the games were so well organised and relaxed they felt less pressure and were able to concentrate on their own sport whilst still supporting their team mates in other events.

  7. Very well said...i was wondering about the rants....Me, i get choked just watching our athletes on screen...however miserably they've performed...With the way Britain has excelled, i would have thought everyone would be cheering & in high spirits. Seems to me that most of the posters here get kicks of...um...kicking people down...You, AZ are like a breath of fresh air here...alongwith cheery Viper of course...

    ; )

  8. If you don't care, why is your question the length of an essay?

  9. I'm betting that they run out of money, and then our economy goes even further down the pan while they spend more cash on a swimming pool that nobody is ever going to use.

  10. Well said. Congratulations to all who won and thanks to everyone that took part. I feel really proud to be British. Didnt we do well.

  11. Yes we have had our best run of Gold medals however that was only possible with extensive Lottery funding over a number of years, and we all know that the Lottery promotes gambling and gambling devastates families, more often than not the poorest ones at that.

All those Gold medals are tainted.

  12. That doesn't bother me at all. I enjoyed the sports I like watching, and I enjoyed the fact that the British athletes all done so well.

I still doubt whether the London games will be anywhere near as good as the Beijing games, but I'll wait and see and hope to stand corrected.

  13. Awww I agree too :)

  14. Finally someone who says how i feel. I can't stand the olympics but i am glad britain did well for once. You know that this government will go over budget for the 2012 olympics as i can't think of 1 thing they have come under budget for yet.
