Its Kinesis tape that Kerri Walsh is wearing. She has had pain in her shoulder for the last 8 years or so, and had surgery and the tape just help blood flow through the area better to make it feel better. Also, the tape supports the shoulder.

basically, the american woman had a surgery on her shoulder, and its taped to stop her from injuring it further and to make sure her current activities (i.e., winning gold medals) doesn't reverse that healing process.

I have no clue. Looks really weird! But they're GOLD MEDAL winners so they can do whatever she wants!
