  1. I've been a certified nursing assistant going on 3 years now. A CNA is just a certified equivalent to a home health aide. Nursing home work is difficult because you will be assigned more than one patient at a time to care for. You are responsible for taking care of the needs a person can not do themselves, like bathing, dressing, ADL's (activities of daily living), feeding, grooming. In home care is a little different and a little less hectic, but at the same time, you aren't guaranteed immediate help if, lets say, they fall. Also, you may be home health aides and CNA's are responsible for post mortem care, which is basically preparing and bathing the body in the event of a death. You monitor and document vital signs. Every job is different and different states require different training. It's alot of strain (so get a back brace), but it is very rewarding as well. Good Luck!!!
