Is anybody actually pleased with their tax dollars going towards bailing out irresponsible companies that gave high risk loans and people who bought expensive homes that were outside of their means?

  1. Well, it would depend on the situation. In your description no, I am not for bailing out irresponsible home buyers, ie. someone who makes $30,000 a year and bought a $130,000 house, that's their problem. On the other hand,if someone has had a home for 20 years and they refinanced to an ARM ( adjustable rate mortgage ) with the promise of a lower rate in the future, the company who helped refinance gives money away like air to everyone else that wants a house, the people can't afford it, then the housing market starts to crash, rates go sky high, stupid people don't pay their bills and the person who has had their home for 20+ years might lose it. That person should have some assistance.

  2. **** no. How ironic that the only companies being bailed out are the illegitamate lenders, while good banks like Wamu can't compete with their competition being subsidized...I guess they should've had some friends in the Fed

  3. No. Never. Unfortunately, people have looked to the gov't whenever there's a problem starting with FDR. The hue & cry is deafening whenever the economy gets tight, screaming for the gov't to do something. And it's always too much, too late and just makes things worse.

  4. Heck no! Stupid people need to be hit hard with their problems!

  5. I disapprove of that action, but similar events in the past have shown that inaction is actually worse for everyone.

  6. most of the time - NO

but the Chrysler bail-out worked out alright

and Lee I. paid the Government back

  7. If anything, the money should go to the people to allow them to keep their homes.  To large companies who's execs. are pulling in big $..NO.  If they aren't bailed out perhaps they will change their practices.

  8. No, because I am paying for it not the politicians.
