  1. It's dissapointing to see  how many ignorant dumb americans have answered with no knowledge of earth hour's efforts or the concept of global warming. Those of you that don't care deserve a real lesson in managing our precious home we call earth.

We in Australia are all doing alot about it. More than 30 worldwide nations, 370+ cities, are paticipating, if you are not, what does it say about you and your governments view of global warming! NOT MUCH!

  2. yes there are plenty of gullible people in the world who have fallen prey to this hoax.

  3. yes. its easy to do but does make a difference.

  4. Hello!

    Not really concerned !!.

When the lights from the heavens no longer shine then I may think about such things.

    God Bless!

    Take care!

  5. I am participating in the counter effort know as Make the Night Bright.  Tonight I and other like minded people will celebrate modern technology by:

Turning on all of the lights in our houses

    Taking long hot showers

    Using our electrical appliances

Keeping our houses at comfortable temperatures

Our program will have exactly the same effect on global warming as Earth Hour - none, and it will raise awareness of just what the Neo-Luddites and their ilk are trying to take from us.

  6. This is just another things to get a bunch of lemmings to follow each other off a cliff...

Oh and by the way the only way to come out of an ice age is for the earth to warm up, it's a cycle and there is nothing that we can do to stop it, are all of the enviromentalist going to start complaining about how the human race put the earth into the next ice age when it happens?  Probably!!

  7. no, seriously: one hour will change a lot!

also i dont believe global warming is a danger, nor caused by us so even more reason this wont affect anything

  8. I'm not even sure what "earth hour" is....

  9. Well, if participation means to simply switch off the lights on Earth hour, it shouldn't be a problem for me. My laptop would still be online.

  10. It's more of a publicity stunt, it's not going to have any actual impact on anything, but it will help raise awareness.  Apparently several thousand people did it.  I didn't bother.

  11. Nah - it's a silly thing.  It's like Commies having everyone wave red flags to show that they are 'with the party'.

This warming cycle started about 12,000 years back, driving back the deadly glaciers and opening up millions of acres of new land for habitat, forests and farming - all before humans ever became industrialized.  Turning off the lights for an hour won't make a jot of difference.

  12. Yes im definitely doing earth hour....actually a group of my friends and i r doing it all at our houses and we will be texting each other  during it! I just want to leave the world with it being better then when i came into it so i try to make the biggest positive difference i can.

  13. Not me, its an idiotic pointless symbolic action which will have neglibible effects.

  14. Good on you, Big Ray!  I just turned back on [not the lights - still in lovely soft candle light].  The electricity people said on radio that their production has to go down when our consumption goes down, like the water pressure in a hose, so the more ppl take part the more power we conserve. Raising ppl's consciousness by participating in the Earth Hour is a very worthwhile exercise. Most of us in the west are astonishingly wasteful of resources and we need to become aware of it.
