  1. That is true. My husband is A+ and I'm O- so I had to get one shot while I was pregnant and one shot after I had the baby. It's nothing to worry about, though. It's so that your body doesn't attack the baby.

  2. I'm O-....

If your husband has a negative blood type then you will not need the shot because your baby will also be born with a negative blood type.

My hubby hates needles, so I just told him that I would get the shot and prevent him from having more blood work done. No big deal to me!

  3. Yes. I am Rh negative. We already know my husband is Rh positive so I need the shot shortly. And it is true if he is Rh negative you do not need Rhogam.

    I'm A- and he's O+.

  4. Lucky!!  They didnt check my husbands blood type just gave me the shot!!  Not a fun one to get!!

  5. Hi, I'm a birth doula and I work with a lot of pregnant women.  Since you and your husband are both Rh negative, your baby will also be Rh negative and your blood will be compatible.  The concern is if your hubby was Rh positive there'd be a 50/50 chance the baby would be positive and would be incompatible with your blood.

What the lab told you is correct, no need to get the shot.

  6. if you're both negative then no you don't need one. I'm A- and my hubby is O+ so I have to get the shot.

  7. im rh negative and had the shot whilst preg with first baby

  8. Yep its true.  And if your baby ends up with the negative blood type, then you won't have to get the shot after giving birth.

  9. I am also RH negative. I have had the shot and gone through 3 pregnancies. You get a shot at 28 weeks then again 72 hours after the baby is born. I asked my doc about whether or or not the daddy-to-be should get his blood tested and he said he was gonna give it to me anyways. You should talk to your OB for more information though.

  10. Im 0- and my doctors said it didnt matter if my b/f was - or + because they would give me the shot anyway, just in case.
