  1. Not really I think its good for the game that some competition has finally shown its face,it was kind of getting monotonous with him winning everything in sight and not even surrendering a set

  2. I am so angry. Nadal don't deserve number one. This years is only year Nadal is good. Federer has been winning 3 glands slams and almost every single ATP tour every year. why Nadal becomes number one then??? It's not fair.

  3. well, not really angry.. just sad. i feel bad for him. i'm so used to roger being no.1 and just dominating men's tennis all the time. i hope he regains it soon!

  4. Yes angry i hate nadal

  5. Not angry really, more sad. But its not as if he can't regain it which I think he will. Nadal deserves it because he's had a fantastic year.

  6. i am not ...........i am and was always Nadal fan and he deserves it ,Federer's time is over now and yeah i want to make one thing clear that of course Federer is a great player but now it's Nadal time.......................and Federer can't help it

  7. ha, no. federer has had his time to shine, now it's rafa's :)

  8. I'm not. He had his time at the top and times change. His prime is over. He will now play catch up to Rafael Nadal.  And I don't think Nadal will be at the top for as long as Roger has been. Roger is already a legend. Rafa will take the number 1 spot but will not last as much.  There are other great players like Davydenko, Djokovic and Murray who want to stop them too.

  9. Not really. He had his prime and his times up. Rafa was behind him for over 2 years and I'm glad he stepped his level up and rose to the occasion. He deserves to be #1, he beat Fed in French Open and Wimbledon!! This man is an amazing player.

  10. angry? more like ecstatic

  11. ME

  12.   Not as angry just sad that he lost a streak.  But the guy gave us spectacular performances and came through with so many wins that I'm glad he's my favorite player!  Hopefully it can be a positive and make him motivated and hungry again?

I really can't wait for the next season. I'm hoping it's a dogmatch for the #1 spot next year and for Federer to come out on top!

I am a little angry that Nadal has taken over. I'm a little unsure of liking or disliking him.  I know I may get some negatives on this but I sometimes wonder, what if Nadal's strength and endurance is not natural? Wouldn't it be horrible  if in a couple of years we find out that all the speculation on the drug allegations were true? He  has stopped someone as great as Federer from winning all slams thus still not beat Sampras's record and other records when there may be unfair advantage?

But then what if the speculations are really untrue and I would really feel bad for what Nadal went through and the hard work he's putting in and the media pretty much scandalizing his name for no reason.

I guess if Federer loses the #1 spot, it would be to someone deserving and I hope that Nadal is.

  13. I am a huge fan of of roger and I love him so much and I was really sad in recent days BUT you don't have to be angry and you got to be proud of Federer and understand the difficult times he has been passing in his career so far.

It was not easy for any player to play against a lot of factors, he was playing to defend his No.1 spot , he playing against the huge pressure he has from the media, he was playing against the bad run which made him in that bad position, he was playing against A Croatian Giant who has big serve and doesn't make too many mistakes......a lot of things were on his shoulder... Nobody likes to put himself on Roger's shoes..

So how he could tolerate all these factors, he is human after all and not a machine.

He has been struggling and suffering and all the conditions weren't in his favor besides the Media kept pressurizing him more and more besides the draw was not fair with him b'cos it kept him from the very beginning against tricky and dangerous players especially the Croatian Giant who has nothing to lose.

When you play against someone who has strong serve and your no.1 spot is under threat the more you will feel the pressure and the more you will You feel the world all against you.

Roger will blow him away very easily if he met him in better circumstances but unfortunately he met him in his worst psychological conditions.

After all he is human and not a machine and we shall not forget what he has achieved in the past five years.

I really challenge any player to stay as world no.1 as long as Roger b'cos it's not easy to stay as world No.1 for a long time nowadays b'cos it needs a lot of hard work, a lot of focus, a lot of fitness, a lot of practice, a lot of competitve matches and a lot more.

Maybe now he can relax and take a break from the media and its pressure and I am sure he will play much better in the next events b'cos the pressure will be off.

Nobody stays no.1 forever and we shall never forget what has achieved and the joy he brought to our lives.

He needs us to stay with him in good times and bad ones and that what supposed to be from loyal fans and believe me he fought hard to win his last match but he had some bad luck.

  14. Not at all - Rafa has worked hard and deserves the #1 ranking. Tennis is exciting because it is always changing, Fed has to change or step things up if he wants to keep up with the game.  I don't know if he still has the will in him - he has gotten to sit at the top for so long with little to no challenge from anyone that he may have gotten a bit complacent. In the end, the game and the fans come out the winners because the game continues to rise to new levels and he will either show us a whole new level of mastery or fall away and new players will step forward to show their skills.  Nevertheless, whatever happens, it certainly doesn't take away from he has accomplished in his career.

  15. Angry? No not at all because in my mind as a fan Federer is still number one. I am however sad about it for Fed because even after every single accomplishment he's achieved and despite not winning everything this year like he usually does he's still reaching grandslam semi's and finals, and going far in other tournaments and being incredibly consistent as usual and it still doesn't make people shutup. But in a way it might be good for him because it will take the spotlight off of him and he can just play tennis quietly and let Rafa handle all the pressure that Fed always handled and see how he fairs.

  16. I'm more sad because of how people are forgetting what Fed actually  did with this sport that is out of this world.  It's like haters don't appreciate how hard it is for anyone to play like that for 4 years and win almost every tournament or 2-3 slams every year.  He's at the top  of any player who has been number one for consecutive weeks.  I hope that he's not as sad.

However I'm glad that this ranking thing is out the way.  Too much pressure.  People are going on like their favorite never had a down year or a bad 2nd half of the year.  They think their favorite will not go through a bad slump but they will.  People are forgetting that all great champions have slumps including someone as dominent as Tiger.  However, these great champions make come backs and Fed is no exception.

  17. Disappointed? Yes. Angry? No. As big a Federer fan as I am, I couldn't honestly say he deserves to be number one. He's won all of two small tournaments all season so far and lost both Major finals he's been in: Nadal, by contrast, has seven titles to his name including two Slams and at least three Masters Series events. Much as it pains me to say it, Nadal is really the deserved top guy. He has acheived his success through sheer tireless effort whilst Federer seems to trying to cruise through on talent alone. Until or unless Roger can rediscover his focus and motivation, and actually start REALLY trying again, it is very hard to seriously argue that he merits the top ranking.
