Good news for the federer fans. However its not exactly fair when Nadal is obviously tired from all the matches he`s played over the last few months not to mention the number of hours he`s spent on court has been far greater than any other player seeing as he won all the tournaments :) ! *note* Rafa has played 17 more matches than any other player on tour, thats taking effect on his body obviously :( !!! So the only way Roger to have a chance is if Nadal is fatigued lol !

  1. I'm not particularly concerned because i'm supporting Britain at the Olympics but he does seem to be running out of gas. I don't think he was playing his best at Cincinnati. I do like him though and I hope he is a bit more refreshed at the u.s open.

    yay for murray<3

    =]

  2. lol i agree, its not fair that nadal has to get to the final of a tournament to win it

he should be allowed to miss a few rounds to stop him being tired

its not fair, they should make all the other players run 10 miles before they play their matches

or maybe just cancel all tennis matches and give the cups to nadal

yeah, that would be much more fair i think

  3. I've been saying all along that he should skip the Olympics and rest up for the US Open. I hope he loses in the early rounds.

    Go Murray!!

  4. Nadal has been having a great year and he will be fatigued. The style he plays does take a lot out of you physically and mentally. So I don't think that he will be able to play his best.

Did you ever consider when Federer played all those years at number one how many more matches he played more then Nadal?

I guess that is Nadal's downfall to his style. It is really difficult to keep that level of play at that high of a level when his game is always so demanding physically and mentally. But that is his style and he is amazing at it.

  5. I hope he is fine. But I mean he gets a week off really...and then another one before The Open.

He should use the incentive that he has 4 weeks off after the Open before he competes again, i the madrid Masters.

But I think he will be fine Mandy, cause he is playing for Spain and you know how patriotic he can get.

  6. And who cares if he is????

  7. Aww I really hope he's not too tired :(

It would not be a fair competition if Rafa was prevented from playing his best tennis cause of fatigue.  I think he will still do well though cause he is so unbelievably fit but at the same time, he did look tired in his defeat to Djokovic at Cincinnati.  If Roger wins, we know why though cause he's not exactly playing well just now lol.

    Vamos Rafa! xx

  8. Nadal might be very tired. He has gone non-stop for a long period of time with the tournaments, making it to consecutive finals. This might bring a strong physical toll to his game and cause more injuries. His body might fail him and his game could be drastically altered. Lets all hope that Rafa is well rested so he can claim the gold!

  9. Would you be saying the same thing for Fed if Fed had to play so many matches this year and was suffering from a little fatigue? - and Fed has played an amazing amount of matches in the past few years as a #1 but did not suffer much fatigue or injuries because his playing style is perfect.

If you wanna be #1, you gotta win alot of tournaments which means playing a crapload more matches than the rest of the field! If Nadal wants to suffer from less fatigue, maybe he should play more gracefully and economically (oh wait...I forgot HE CAN'T!), if you wanna be a grinder you gotta pay the price, if you can't handle the burden, get the **** outta the kitchen!

Oh, but I absolutely agree with you, it's completely unfair (moronic piece of c**p!) Nothing but a biased Nadal ***kisser!

  10. looks every year he plays to many tournaments , he must be used to it now

  11. Well Rafa's not the only one that's tired so it's fair game.   If Fed and Nadal happen to meet and Fed wins it will be because he's found his game because Rafa has won over Fed even when he was tired before.

  12. No and i dont care because i want federer to win.

  13. yes it keeps me awake at night.

  14. I think yeah, his playing style makes all those matches have a toll on the body, although I have heard (read?) him say that he disagrees with people who say his playing style makes him injury-prone.

And yeah, I think Federer's playing style is much more graceful and elegant (I prefer Rafa, though!) so that he rarely looks tired, win or lose.

My real concern is that Rafa tries hard at the olympics, only to play poorly at the U.S. Open - Rafa is still young and can go to the olympics hopefully once or twice more so I don't want him to over-exhaust himself and burn himself before the U.S. Open.
