Question:

Is anyone else disappointed in the Channel 7 coverage of the Olympics? ?

So many ads, so many promos, highlights, presenters and interviews yet not a single sport apart from swimming is covered in its entireity.

Every competition is interrupted at crucial moments to throw to an ad, then after the break a different sport is screened. SO frustrating and pointless. Not relaxing at all.

  1. One can only hope that Channel 7 are listening and reading forums such as these. Sadly, they will pat themselves on the back and tell themselves what a great job they did. I have not spoken to one person in the last week who has been satisfied with the coverage.

The promos, the slo-mos done to music, commentary that has been woeful at best (apart from Phil Liggett), endless repeats, incredibly narrow coverage ... all of this and more have only served to make this our WORST Olympic coverage ever!!!

We can only hope and pray that 9 are listening and improve things in 2012, although I am not holding my breath.

Go SBS!!!! Let's give the whole thing to them!!

  2. "You are...we are....." they are not Australians......All for one and  one for how much money can we make out these gullible Australians.

  3. Yes that was what i was thinking so i jsut completely gave up on Channel 7 and tried to find sources online.

  4. channel 7 seem more concerned with making the most they can out of the advertisers rather than pleasing viewers, after all its going to 9 next time....

they seem more concerned with showing repeats of repeats of repeats rather than live action, both the basketball and waterpolo were delayed this afternoon...

they dont display enough information on the screen...

etc etc etc... lets hope 9 do better in 2012...

  5. I know exactly what you mean, and they seem to determine what we watch, especially in the swimming, I have watched the same event, the womens 4 x 200 five times that day and then they replayed it the next day, what about the other sports, ping pong, gymnastics, equestrian, shooting etc., they all fall by the way side, it sucks, why keep showing repeats when we could be watching a game that we cant normally see, its like an agenda they have, yes we care that we win, but we also enjoy watching the competitions, whether we win or loose, its still interesting to watch, good question! :)

  6. Yes I am pretty appaled with the coverage

all they televise is swimming and rowing

    the commentators are dreadful

and there is so much ads during the final second

and there is also so much freakin gymnastics

SBS Is the way to go for now
